This piece was one of my first distinct encounters where seeing shaped a story.

The Creation of Heart Strings:
This piece was originally shaped by seeing the love and care that people poured into my practice. I selected materials from encounters that contributed to the work — fabrics gifted by loved ones and artist friends, and mesh from produce packaging from dinners I made to express care for others. Made during a time of slowing, the piece held the practice steady.

The Encounter with Heart Strings (2026) and the Shaping that took place:
THE ENCOUNTER
"...your art “speaks” to me. You could call it “triggering” to because as soon as I saw that it triggered me to write something, anything, and that story cam[e] about." - MaDusah Park Edmonds
MaDusah Park Edmonds, a writer inspired by Heart Strings, wrote a short story about what she saw when encountered by the piece. The most striking thing about this is that she saw it as "it's female artistry in its most raw form...the blood, the sweat, the tears, the birth, the rebirth, the pain, the love...all put into one" (Edmonds). A deviation from what my lens saw in terms of the interpretation of what the narrative rawness presented to me, but it is in that deviation that the meaning extended the articulation of meaning and artifact, creating a new work derived from the encounter, originally untitled with a description saying Sieva's Story, but now with a title given by the author, For the Love of Heart.
